Job Description:

Reporting to Artistic Director, Art & Design, the Lead Media Arts Technician provides key technical support and creative input for Media Arts program areas in Art & Design including all ongoing and preventative maintenance of audio/visual equipment, software and programs, and provides key support to all faculty and classes in Media Arts.

Responsibilities:

● Maintain Art & Design media arts equipment and assets.
● Develop systems and processes to ensure media arts equipment and material needs are maintained, including communicating any necessary repairs, preventative maintenance, and replacement needs.
● Provide one-on-one and group training to others regarding proper use, operation, and minor maintenance of equipment or systems.
● Assist with the collection of requirements, planning and design of audio/visual solutions for specific class or studio needs.
● Participate in the sourcing (product research, recommendation, and vendor selection) of audio/visual equipment, software and programs.
● Assist with the preparation, installation, and testing of new audio/visual equipment, software and programs.
● Assist with maintaining a central inventory record of audio visual equipment, materials, software and programs.
● Maintain good communication with Art & Design Programming & Faculty teams.
● Oversee Assistant Media Arts Technician.
● Support in the install of related Art & Design exhibitions and events.
● Perform related duties in keeping with the purpose and accountabilities of the job.

Qualifications:

● Strong research, diagnostic, and problem solving skills related to audio visual systems and creative media arts programs.
● Strong understanding of industry-standard and contemporary trends in Media Arts.
● Responsible, detail-oriented, organized and naturally curious with a passion for consumer and professional electronics, technology, and creative software.
● Experience in Media Arts education for youth.
● Excellent oral and written communication skills.
● Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer service orientation.
● Ability to work under tight deadlines.
● Ability to work in a busy environment, with frequent interruptions, while prioritizing and resolving requests.
● Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
● Availability for occasional off-hours or weekend tasks.
