Job Description:

ABOUT YOU 

You are a team player committed to community. You will plan and instruct developmentally appropriate music classes and dynamic lesson plans. You will be working in a creative environment utilizing your leadership and people skills while maintaining a safe environment to engage students to expand their interest in music. You are an excellent communicator with a positive, energetic and enthusiastic attitude.  

Responsibilities:

SKILLS REQUIRED: 

Ability to lead interactive music classes designed for infants, toddlers, and their caregivers.

Able to develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate singing, instrument play, movement, and other musical activities.

Ability to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that fosters a love for music and supports the developmental needs of young children.

Encourage caregiver participation and provide guidance on how they can engage musically with their child.

Adapt activities to meet the individual needs of children with varying abilities and developmental stages. 

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

Candidates must have experience working with infants, toddlers, and their caregivers in a group setting, and are proficient in playing one or more musical instruments, with a strong understanding of basic music theory. Candidates must also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to create a positive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment, and possess patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children and their families.


All instructors working with children must have a current Emergency First Aid certificate and HIGH FIVE: Principles of Healthy Child Development training (available online through BCRPA). All NVRC employees should be prepared to work at any NVRC location. All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check prior to any appointment.

Remuneration:

HOURLY RATE: The rate of pay for this casual position is $24.96 per hour.
