schools in the Fraser-Fort George Regional District, offering educational activities in the schools. With direct guidance from the Director of Learning and Engagement, they will finish the development of an engaging arts-based program to be delivered on their travels. They will also assist in our summer arts celebration, Community Art Days, which will be held July 11 + 12, 2025. The remaining time with Two Rivers Gallery will be spent as a camp leader in our summer Creativity Camps delivering arts-based programs and managing youth. The role is centered around gaining skill-building work experiences in community spaces, administrative skills and facilitating educational art programs for school aged children.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborating closely with the Learning and Engagement team to coordinate details of education engagements across the District of Fraser-Fort George
- Developing a unique outreach arts education program for delivery to school-aged children from Kindergarten through Grade 7
- Travelling across the region to deliver programming to rural communities, engaging children in arts programming and providing information about Two Rivers Gallery’s resources
- Assisting with the creation of art activities for our signature summer event, Community Art Days
- Delivering Creativity Camp programming, as created by the Creativity Camp Coordinator
- Working as part of the gallery team – participate in staff meetings, training and engagement
- Maintaining a safe and healthy creative environment for youth
- Fostering engagement and joy in youth exploring the visual and creative arts
- Cultivating clear and respectful communication with youth and guardians

Qualifications:

- This position is suitable for an Undergraduate or Graduate student studying Education, Fine Arts, Art History, Museum Studies or other related fields
- Experience working with children, specifically those 6-12 years of age
- Ability to collaborate and work closely with others
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license or out of province equivalent.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Passion for youth arts education
- An interactive approach to community outreach and engagement that helps art come alive for new audiences
- Commitment to honour, engage and celebrate culture, identifying and removing barriers to participation and inclusion, fostering anti-racism initiatives, and championing diversity in the arts is an asset
- Knowledge of Indigenous ways of knowing is an asset
- First Aid Certification

How to Apply:

Successful applicants must meet the eligibility criteria for Young Canada Works including: having been enrolled as a full-time student in the Spring of 2025 and returning to school full-time in the Fall of 2025, be between the ages of 16-30, and be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. This position is contingent on funding and will be hired based on availability. Students who are interested in this position should consider applying also for our Regional Outreach Coordinator positions.

Dates of Employment: May 12th – August 29th, 2025
Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm, 7.5 hours / day, 37.5 hours / week. Some evening and / or weekend work may be required.
Rate of pay: $17.40 / hour
