Call for Artists Description:
We’re holding space for Black History Month from February 11 – March 9, 2025. Curated by our local Black History Month Collective, we are inviting submissions for an exhibition that provides an opportunity for conversation and connection, to be held in the Eve Smart Gallery, Gibsons Public Art Gallery, Gibsons, BC
How to Apply:
All visual artists of African descent are invited to submit a proposal with a one-page artist’s statement, a CV, and up to five samples of their work (.jpg files, no larger than 1MB please) to info@gpag.ca. All proposals are due by November 30th, 2024. Selected artists will be notified by December 20th, 2024. An honorarium will be offered and artists may choose to list their work for sale during the exhibition. If an artist sells their work a commission will apply (60% to the artist; 40% to GPAG). Depending on the number of submissions received, GPAG may choose to expand the exhibition space or to limit the size of the artworks displayed. Fees/Compensation:
There are no fees to apply or exhibit. An honorarium will be offered to participating artist(s).
