Call for Artists Description:

Budget: Max $320,000

Description: Beedie Living invites artists or artist teams to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for a public art project at Fraser Mills in Coquitlam. The selected artist will transform a 30-foot bandsaw from the historic Fraser Mills sawmill into a vibrant public art piece at Debut, the first residential development in this master-planned community. Positioned along Millside Street, this gateway installation will honor the site’s industrial heritage. The successful candidate will use the bandsaw as a canvas, re-imagining it through paint, light, water, sculpture, or other media. Shortlisted artists will be encouraged to develop concepts that celebrate the history of Fraser Mills while fostering a sense of place, inclusivity, and community connection. The artwork should be accessible and resonate with a diverse audience, creating a lasting cultural impact in the area.
