Call for Artists Description:

The City is seeking artists to activate the “eco-zone” during our annual Burnaby Blooms event taking place on May 4, 2025 at Deer Lake Park.

Eco-art submissions should use environmentally friendly materials, while not harming or in any way impacting the natural ecological environment in which they will be installed. Submissions should be sensitive to the habitat and cultural significance of the area.

Fees/Compensation:

$1,500-$5,000 CAD, depending on the scope, nature, and complexity of the project, number of activations associated with the installation (e.g., workshop and/or artist talk/demonstration), length of installation, and artist experience. Artists are expected to be present to speak about their work with the public for at least 2 hours on Sunday May 4. Please note that the artist fee includes transportation/mileage, assistance with setup and removal of artwork, and insurance. In your proposal, please provide a rough breakdown of expenses.
