Job Description:

The Programs & Outreach Manager oversees the planning, timelines, staff and contractors associated with delivering GEMS’ programs and events, and develops and sustains partnerships with sponsors, community partners, and stakeholders of the events and programs.

Responsibilities:

Program & Event Management (50%)

Oversight of the program timelines and deliverables, in collaboration with the program directors for The Genre Film Lab, Emerging TV Producers Program, GEMFest and other GEMS events and programs;
Supporting the Executive Director in hiring processes for program and event staff and contractors;
Support program directors in delivering information sessions, Zoom workshops, and other program-related offerings;
Develop and implement calls for submissions, conduct acceptance and non-acceptance communications in coordination with Program Directors;
Manage mentorship programs with industry partners, including the Whistler Film Festival Mentorship;
Outreach and coordination of juries for programs as needed, including assigning applications for review and crafting rubrics and guidelines as required;
Liaising with vendors and contractors, including but not limited to: venues, hospitality vendors, technicians, guest speakers, filmmakers, artists, event support staff and key volunteers;
Reporting: Overseeing attendance tracking, collection of relevant statistics, and creating and disseminating post-event surveys, evaluations and reports;
Supporting the Executive Director as-needed with grant applications and reporting pertaining to events and programs.

Sponsorship & Outreach Management (50%)

Work closely with the Executive Director to develop and execute a sponsorship strategy for each program and for the festival;
Outreach to sponsors to secure sponsorship for events and programs;
Ensuring sponsorship deliverables are met and stewarding sponsor relationships through our events and programs, in collaboration with the Programming Coordinator and Communications Coordinator;
Maintain and develop relationships with sponsors and community partners as needed, in coordination with the Communications Coordinator;
Oversee the tracking of data for events and programs, ensuring data is adequately collected and stored in accordance with grant requirements;
Ensure sponsorship and grant agreement terms are adhered to and upheld for all events and programs in collaboration with the Executive Director;
Work in close collaboration with the Communications Coordinator to ensure sponsorship deliverables are met;
Carry out any other reasonable directions and requests by the Executive Director.

Experience working for a non profit and or a film festival.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma (minimum)
Ideally, a post-secondary education in any film/media-related field, journalism, business management, marketing, communications, sales or equivalent.
2 - 3 years of relevant work experience
PR/Work Visa (ability to work in Canada)
Fluent in written and spoken English

Remuneration:
