Surrey Civic Theatres are owned and operated by the City of Surrey and supports the training and development of artists through performing arts classes, workshops and day camps for children, and youth. Surrey Civic Theatres supports a busy schedule of high-quality performing arts from classical music and dance from a variety of cultures, through to socially engaged theatre productions for all ages, as well as numerous community events.

Job Description:
Surrey Civic Theatres is looking for a singing instructor to add to their contract instructor facility roster for performing arts classes (e.g. drama, music, dance ). Classes are held weekday evenings for a five to eight-week period, with one class a week, and are divided by age groups.
Responsibilities:
• Leading a program for children, youth, or adults
• Develop and/or deliver programs for children, youth and adults
• Prepare all materials and manage resources for each program
• Maintain a safe, positive and healthy learning environment
• Liaise with Surrey Civic Theatre staff and parents/guardians
Qualifications:
• Post secondary education in the performing arts or in related field
• Able to provide instruction on a number of genres.
• Experience teaching children, youth, and/or adults.
• Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
• Availability to work evenings.
• Successful candidates will be required to pass a Police Information Check if the
program is for participants from a Vulnerable Sector (children, youth, seniors,
persons with disabilities)
• First aid is an asset but not required.

Remuneration:
Starting rate of $35/Hour, dependant on experience can be negotiated
