New BCAC Program Supports Individual Artists
/As part of its response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the BC Arts Council has announced a new funding program, Pivot for Individuals.
Where the first Pivot program was designed to help organizations and collectives adapt to the impacts of the pandemic, this new program assists individual professional artists, cultural practitioners, and arts administrators to adapt and transition their practice or to undertake learning activities that will sustain or advance their career.
Funding is available up to $12,000. There are two categories that individuals can apply to:
Category 1: Adaptation and Transition
Projects that allow individuals to make bold pivots or transitions in their artistic practice in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Applicants may apply to adapt an existing work or body of work or undertake research and establish new approaches to their work.
Category 2: Professional Development
Assistance is available for professional development opportunities or specific learning activities that will sustain or advance an individual’s career.

All applications must be submitted through the BCAC’s online application system. If you’re not yet registered, please do as soon as possible.
