Announcing the BC Touring Council 2018 Award Winners

The BC Alliance was in attendance at Pacific Contact on April 7, 2018, at the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown Hotel in Burnaby, where the BC Touring Council Annual Awards were presented.

The Touring Artist/Artistic Company of the Year was awarded to an artist or artistic company who toured BC within the past year, who demonstrates artistic excellence in their discipline and the highest  degree of professionalism. The 2018 Artistic Company of the Year award went to DuffleBag Theatre.

Presenter of the Year demonstrates a commitment to artistic and managerial excellence, demonstrates community involvement, the highest degree of professionalism in presenting and contributes to the awareness and development of the arts. The 2018 Presenter of the Year was awarded to BC Alliance board member Kirsten Schrader of the Cowichan Performing Arts Centre in Duncan.

The Agent or Manager of the Year demonstrates professionalism and respect for artists and presenters and demonstrates ethical and best practices in business. This year's Agent or Manager of the Year was awarded to Margot Holmes and Debbie Peters of Maverick Cooperative.

Best Booth in the Contact Room
This year's Best Booth in the Contact Room at Pacific Contact, chosen by members of BCTC's Youth Advisory Council, went to Cheesecake Burlesque Revue. The group wins a quarter page advertisement in the 2019 Pacific Contact printed program.
