SOCAN Foundation Launches Indigenous Songwriter Award

SOCAN Foundation has announced the launch of the TD Indigenous Songwriter Award. The winner receives a prize of $10,000 and will attend the Indigenous Music Awards gala in Winnipeg on May 18, 2018 with accommodation and travel expenses covered.

The award open to songwriters who are of Indigenous descent, and may be any age. Candidates must be Canadians and SOCAN members or Canadians who are not members of any performing rights organization. Works submitted must be original, composed within three years of the application deadline. Arrangements are not eligible.
