Call to Action From City of Vancouver's Arts and Culture Policy Council
/Members of Vancouver's arts and cultural community are urged to register to speak at a special City Council meeting on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 to advocate for increased arts funding in the 2017 Budget.
The City's Arts and Culture Policy Council (ACPC) has passed a motion advising City Council to increase funding to the Operating Grants program of the Cultural Services Department. ACPC feels strongly that an increase in funding in this area is crucial for organizational stability, as the budget for grants for operating clients has not increased significantly since 2007.
Arts organizations, artists, and board members are encouraged to sign up to speak at the public meeting in the Council Chamber, Third Floor, City Hall. The meeting commences at 9:30 a.m. See the notice of the meeting and the agenda here.
