The Neighbourhood Small Grants Deadline is March 31!
/Have a small-scale idea for an activity that would build connection in your community? How about a multicultural fashion show, community garden picnic, learn-to-knit circle, or cul-de-sac musical jam session?
The Neighbourhood Small Grants program is based on a simple but powerful idea: when people feel a sense of connection and belonging to their neighbourhood, they are more likely to be engaged in activities that make it a better place to live. The program funds individuals to fulfill projects that connect and engage residents, share skills and knowledge, build a sense of ownership and pride, and respect and celebrate diversity.
Neighbourhood Small Grants (typically up to $500) are available in 17 communities throughout Vancouver, the North Shore, Burnaby, North Surrey, New Westminster and Richmond. The application deadline is March 31, 2015.
If you’ve ever thought of doing something fun and artsy with your neighbours, maybe now is the time to make it happen!
