Job Description:

If you enjoy working at large special events, this may be for you! The main function of this position is to provide parking lot and vehicle access patrol services for special events, under direction set up and tearing down displays, banners, tables and chairs and other related materials and supplies; installs and removes site signage and tenting; installs temporary fencing and barricades; assists with site marking.

Qualifications:

Qualifications include up to high school graduation, plus some experience in dealing with the public, or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required. Required abilities include controlling the entrance to the facility by the public and dealing tactfully and firmly while providing general information and assistance to facility users. Experience with event set up and tear down as well as working at large scale special events and performing physical labour involving lifting up to 40lbs, standing for long periods of time and ability to work outside in all weather conditions. A Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia is an asset. Please note that a Police Information Check is required for this position.

This is an auxiliary position, hours and shifts are dependent on operational requirements and scheduled on an as needed basis. Availability on the weekends during July and August as well as Statutory holidays is a requirement for this position. Typical shifts are 6 hours in length, starting as early as 8:00 AM and ending as late as 11:00 PM Monday to Sunday.

Remuneration:

$26.18 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits (2024 Rates)
