Job Description:

Fazakas Gallery is seeking a Digital Marketing Coordinator to play a key role in the marketing strategy across all channels and platforms. The candidate must possess exceptional communication and organizational skills with an interest in Visual Arts, Social Media, Digital Marketing, and Public Relations. The key objective of the role is to develop commercial opportunities online through social media, email campaigns, and websites.

The position requires the development, implementation, and management of social media strategy on Instagram, Tik Tok, and YouTube in cooperation with the Director. Initiatives must be taken to develop our online presence, monitor digital response and uptake, and convey any sales leads or interest to the relevant gallery staff in a timely manner. It requires coordinating and editing image and video production, and engaging with followers and artists as a gallery representative. A high level of design acumen is required, as is an acute awareness of contemporary visual culture in order to clearly convey the gallery’s values.

This is a part-time, flexible role requiring approximately 12 hours per week and suitable to work from home with upward reporting and weekly meetings at the gallery. Indigenous candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

- Generate content and boost visibility on the gallery’s social media channels (ie: Instagram)
- Set goals, track and analyze web traffic metrics, suggest solutions to boost web presence
- Maintain a social media planning calendar, in consultation with Gallery Director, to schedule posts and manage digital engagement
- Generate video content with creative direction from the gallery staff and artists
- Produce layout and develop content for monthly newsletters using Artlogic
- Engage with commentary and dialogue on social media in real time
- Assist with website updates and monitor visitor activity across all platforms

Qualifications:

- Two years experience in digital marketing and content generation preferably within the visual arts or commercial sectors
- Post Secondary education in visual arts, marketing, communications or social media
- Ability to create content and captioning for social media, newsletter, and website posts
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, results driven, and proactive
- Proficient in Google Suite and social media platforms. Experience using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom is an asset.
- A demonstrated ability to work independently and report upwards clearly and effectively
- Interest in Indigenous and contemporary art is an asset
