Job Description:

The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts is seeking a passionate and experienced guitar and / or cello instructor to join our team in January 2025. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education and a commitment to fostering a love of music in students of all ages, starting from 8 years old. The ideal applicant will be able to teach both cello and guitar, but we are very open to applicants who teach either.

Responsibilities:

• Teach private guitar and / or cello lessons to students aged 8 and up.
• Develop individualized lesson plans to meet the needs and goals of each student.
• Prepare students for performances and recitals.
• Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
• Communicate with students and parents about progress and goals.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 100 hours of teaching experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Music or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Must have or be willing to obtain CPR-C certification before beginning work.
• Strong knowledge of guitar and / or cello techniques and repertoire.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Patience and adaptability to work with students of varying skill levels.

Remuneration:
