TED2014 Streaming at the Alliance!

The Alliance is pleased to announce that we are live-streaming portions of TED2014 free for our members in our conference room this week!

This year's conference, taking place all week in Vancouver and Whistler, marks TED's 30th anniversary. The conference's theme for 2014 is The Next Chapter

TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks. It began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages.

Please drop by to view the All-Star Sessions on:

  • Tuesday, 2-5 p.m.
  • Wednesday, 2:30-4 p.m.
  • Thursday 2:30-4 p.m

Details on the All-Star Sessions can be found here: conferences.ted.com/TED2014/program/all-stars.php. Speakers for these sessions include photographer Edward Burtynsky, musician Imogen Heap, architect Moshe Safdie, educator and creator of the World Peace Game John Hunter, and creativity expert Sir Ken Robinson.

If you plan to attend, please let us know so that we're able to equip our conference room with enough seating. Send an email to Wren Handman at wren@allianceforarts.com or give us a call at 604.681.3535.

So many compelling speakers are part of TED2014's line-up and although we'd love to make all sessions available for viewing this week, boardroom bookings limit room access during certain hours. However, if you're interested in viewing a particular session during business hours, check with us about availability.

The full TED2014 schedule is listed here: conferences.ted.com/TED2014/program/schedule.php

We hope you can join us!

Please note: viewing is available to Alliance members only!
