Registration Open For SPARC: Symposium for Performing Arts in Rural Communities

The Symposium for Performing Arts in Rural Communities (SPARC) will bring together rural creators, producers, presenters and animateurs to discuss the business of performing arts and place-based culture, in particular in rural communities.

The symposium, taking place April 24-27, 2014, in Halliburton Highlands, Ontario, will feature over 35 informative workshops and three throught-provoking plenary keynotes. A preliminary program is now available online:sparcperformingarts.com/symposium/program-at-a-glance/

Key symposium issues include:

  • What is the economic and social role of the performing arts in rural communities?
  • How do you engage your community in creating, producing and presenting the performing arts?
  • How do you celebrate and share place-based culture more broadly?

Registration for the full symposium is available at a reduced rate prior to March 14. Registration details are available here: sparcperformingarts.com/symposium/registration/
