Rainbow Robert Named New Executive Director of BC Alliance for Arts + Culture
/The Board of Directors of the BC Alliance for Arts + Culture is pleased to announce the appointment of its new executive director, Rainbow Robert, effective Tuesday, February 22, 2022.
Rainbow Robert has been deeply involved in the arts and cultural sector in British Columbia for the past two decades, most recently in the role of Managing Director of Artistic Programming for Coastal Jazz, where she curated the program for the Vancouver International Jazz Festival.
Rainbow Robert has also served as Executive Director of Jazz Festivals Canada, a national arts service organization that represents the interests of and advocates for Canadian jazz festivals and presenters. She has adjudicated the Juno Awards, the Dorris Duke Foundation, and the Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards, and has served on the board of directors for The Canadian Association for the Performing Arts (CAPACOA), and the Vancouver Independent Music Centre (VIM).

The Alliance would like to thank BIPOC Executive Search, who exceeded all expectations in their extensive national search, ensuring participation by the broadest possible range of candidates, as well as search committee chair Ereca Hassell, for organizing a complex search process and leading the Alliance to an outstanding result. The Alliance also thanks outgoing Interim Executive Director Howard Jang for his invaluable work to ensure a smooth transition.
