Provincial Health Officer Announces Full Capacity for Indoor Seating

Restrictions placed on indoor and outdoor gatherings, including concerts, cinemas, and other cultural events, are being lifted in British Columbia for those over 12 with two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. The restrictions will be lifted October 25, as long as it does not conflict with regional health orders.

While outdoor gatherings had been less restricted, indoor gatherings were previously capped at 50% seating capacity.

These changes apply to:

• Indoor sporting events;

• Indoor concerts, theatre, movie theatres, dance and symphony events;

• Indoor organized events such as weddings, funeral receptions outside of a funeral home and organized parties.

Upon announcing the changes on October 19, Dr. Bonnie Henry emphasized that mask requirements for indoor gatherings would remain unchanged.
