Comox Valley Arts Launches Arts and Culture Advocacy Campaign

Comox Valley Arts has launched an advocacy statement and campaign aimed at emphasizing the value of arts and culture in the region and ensuring continued and sustainable support from local governments, agencies and institutions.

"We believe arts and culture enhances every part of our lives," the statement reads in part. "They benefit us economically, socially, and educationally; from the future prospects of our children, to the vibrancy of our valley, to the contribution made to economic growth! We invite you to raise your hand and join us in making a statement about the value of the arts - to our community, and beyond."

The statement, which can be read in full here, goes on to enumerate the myriad benefits on arts and culture, including their economic and health impacts, their role in community-building and their ability to affect positive change.
