Funding Increased for Canada 150 Events in Prince George
/The City of Prince George has partnered with the Prince George Community Foundation to support community events celebrating Canada 150, with each organization offering $25,000 for a total of $50,000.
The events supported by the increased funding include:
- Volunteer Prince George's yearlong volunteer challenge;
- a Lheidli T’enneh First Nation Art Gallery in partnership with The Exploration Place;
- a snow and ice sculpture exhibition to occur February 12;
- Prince George Public Library's Adult Summer Reading Club, with a reading list themed around Canadian identity;
- a Huble Homestead exhibit around Confederation;
- a ten-week exhibition of BC artists at Two Rivers Gallery;
- a Young Canadian Music Festival in October hosted by the Community Arts Council, the Prince George Symphony Orchestra and the Prince George Conservatory of Music; and
- a two-week festival in November celebrating Canadian climbing history hosted by the Alpine Club of Canada.
