First Peoples' Cultural Council to Convene Aboriginal Arts Administrators

 
 

Have you supported or organized arts, culture, and/or heritage activities in your community? Are you doing work behind the scenes to coordinate cultural or arts workshops and events? Consider applying to attend the Aboriginal Arts Administrator Convening.

The First Peoples’ Cultural Council will convene up to 30 emerging B.C. based Indigenous arts administrators and emergent arts and culture leaders for professional development workshops and networking for two days during October of 2016. Workshops will be based on professional development goals identified by participating arts administrators.

During this two-day gathering emerging arts administrators will be offered workshops led by established arts administrators with expertise and experience that responds to the stated learning goals of participants.

Invitation for Expressions of Interest

This invitation is being extended to previous recipients of Aboriginal Arts Administrator Internship grants, and others who have demonstrated a commitment to their arts administration practice. This practice includes a broad range of arts management, community cultural coordination, arts and culture facilitation and stimulation, and curatorial practice in gallery or museum contexts. 

The convening will take place for two days in mid-October of 2016, at the En’owkin Centre, in Penticton, BC.
