/The Canada Council for the Arts has announced its "New Chapter" program to renew its investment in Canadian arts and culture. The minimum grant is $50,000 and the maximum is $100,000 for individuals, collaborations and collectives, and $500,000 for organizations.
The Council is marking the 150th Anniversary of Confederation by creating this special program to support the creation and sharing of exceptional artistic and literary works. According to the Council, the purpose of the fund is to:
- offer all Canadians a wide array of powerful, daring, and exceptional artistic experiences
- provide artists, artists’ groups/collectives and arts organizations with means to take greater risks and develop projects on a greater scale and scope than their usual activities. These one-time projects will serve to advance their own development and that of their arts practices.
