Call for Entry: 2015 Wearable Art Awards
/Submission deadline extended to December 12! Artists are invited to go deep into their imaginations to create a wearable piece of art that challenges what most consider to be wearable, or everyday fashion. Get your submission in now for the 2015 Wearable Art Awards.
The Wearable Art Awards is not a fashion show, it is a multi-media performance where the human body becomes a living, breathing, moving canvas. The Awards Performance takes place February 21 and 22, 2015, at Port Moody's Inlet Theatre & Galleria, and an exhibition runs from February 26-April 2 at the Port Moody Arts Centre.
Categories
An entry must fall into one of the following three form-based categories:
- Headdress
- Brassiere (female or male)
- Complete Outfit (To be considered a complete outfit, the entry should cover a model's upper and lower body. Please do not include shoes; shoe covers are better for the models/dancers.)
Cash Awards
A total of $7,500 will be awarded. Three major prize categories: Best in Show ($1,000), Student Prize ($750) and People's Choice ($1,000)
All entries will also be judged by the following classes, with a total of $4,750 in prize money being awarded:
- Light
- Recycling
- Nature
- Cartoons
- Offbeat
