Work of Art Conference for Visual Artists

To celebrate BC Arts and Culture Week, the Arts Council of Surrey is presenting a full-day conference for visual artists. 

"Work of Art" will take place Saturday, April 26, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Newton Cultural Centre in Surrey. The conference tackles many aspects of how to be a creative artists AND pay the bills. 

Workshops include: social media, photographing your work, pricing your work, cataloguing your work, plus info on marketing and exhibiting, and keeping inspired in tough times. 

Presenters include: Rebecca Coleman (social media marketing consultant), Rochelle Grayson (co-founder of ArtSites.ca and UBC instructor), Joanne Dennis (creativity facilitator), Linda Johner (photographer), Wendy Mould (professional artist and instructor). 

Panel discussion: With panelists Chris Tyrell Loranger, author of Artist Survival Guide, Faith Love-Robertson, artist and teacher, and Carolyn Mohr, gallery and special project coordinator for Coast Collective Arts Centre in Victoria. 

Cost: $80 (includes 2 morning sessions, 2 afternoon sessions, and lunch)
