Moberly is a community cultural hub located in South East Vancouver at 60th and Prince Albert. (2 blocks East of Fraser at 60th). It is a dedicated facility for the development and delivery of the arts in everyday life: an objective aligned with the mandate and vision in the Vancouver Board of Parks, Recreation and Culture’s Arts Policy.
Opening individuals to an art experience is an integral part of any healthy, inclusive community. MACC works with artists to empower community to be creative through all arts disciplines. At MACC, we are excited to support projects that focus on nurturing the creative voices of all participants; building on their personal experiences and backgrounds to realize a collaborative creative outcome.

Job Description:
The Camp Leader roles work with the Camp Supervisor to plan, lead, and run the Moberly Arts & Cultural Centre’s Creative REMIX Camp for children ages 6 to 10 years. Camp runs from July 2-August 15, Monday to Friday, 9:30am-4:00pm at Moberly Arts and Cultural Centre.
Responsibilities:
• Develop weekly themes and to plan and implement age-appropriate activities (e.g. arts & crafts, games, out trips) in accordance with the artistic themes for campers ages 6-10
• Assist with preparations for weekly art workshops with professional artists to deliver a variety of cultural, artistic and participatory activities
• Supervise and mentor camp volunteers
• Liaise with parents/guardians of Summer Escape Day Camp participants
• Communicate with community centre staff and follow organizational and health and safety procedures
Qualifications:
• Experience working in a day camp setting (children ages 6-10) as leader or volunteer
• Experience working and mentoring youth volunteers (ages 16-18) in a recreational setting
• Experience working in the arts and/or training in an arts discipline with a passion for artistic endeavors
• Minimum one year college or university education in a related field; preference will be given to those who are choosing a career in child and youth care, arts & culture, recreation, education or social services
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification is mandatory; clearance of a Police Information Check
To be eligible (Canada Summer Jobs, Sunset Community Association), youth must:
• be between 19 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period;
• be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment;
• have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Remuneration:
$21.50-$22.50 per hour (based on experience and seniority) plus 4% in lieu of vacation pay
