Job Description:

Bard on the Beach is seeking a Lead Box Office Agent to join us in welcoming diverse audiences and in offering an inclusive and accessible space for patrons, artists and staff in accordance with our Company Commitments. As a Lead Box Office Agent, you will provide ticketing and empathetic patron services. You will provide additional daily operations guidance and team leadership in the lead-up to and during the festival season. You will work as part of the Box Office Supervisor’s team.

Responsibilities:

• Process ticket orders, donations and program registrations by phone and in-person, resolve ticketing issues, help patrons navigate the website and provide technical support for online accounts.
• Assist the Box Office team members and be a supplementary assistant when Box Office Manager or Supervisor aren’t available.
• Support the Box Office Supervisor and Box Office Coordinator with large ticket orders by reserving tickets, processing deposits and final payments and communicating group ticket orders.
• Assist in addressing escalated issues between staff and patrons.
• Support Will Call periods, including printing and distributing tickets, preparing reports and seating maps and supporting all health and safety policies, to create a smooth and safe pre-show experience.
• Provide information on the Festival’s programming, promote health and safety policies, and uphold the Company Commitments.
• Update patron files, deactivate spam accounts, merge duplicate accounts and other responsibilities as assigned by the Manager.

Qualifications:

• Experience as a team leader
• Experience in working with the public and creating a welcoming, inclusive space
• Familiarity and comfort with a variety of software. Bard on the Beach uses a CRM software and experience using Spektrix is considered an asset.
• Experience with conflict resolution or de-escalation tactics
• Clear communication skills, in writing and in conversation
• A strong interest in solving problems and finding solutions
• The ability to stay organized and accurate in a time-sensitive and fast-moving environment
• An interest in the theatre and the arts and a willingness to learn in the role.
• Previous box office and/or customer service experience (equivalent experience will be considered)

HOURS

• March through May: Part-time; minimum of three weekdays. Hybrid (remote and in-person) working environment is possible prior to the Festival season.

• June through September: Full-Time, based on Box Office schedule. Successful candidates must be available to work a minimum of four days per week with one of them being on a Saturday or Sunday.

• Shifts offered will be a minimum of 4 hours and a maximum of 8 hours.
