We Need Help! A Call For Volunteers

Your Alliance for Arts and Culture has been stretched pretty thin in recent months, trying to stay on top of all the demands of our regular work plus responding to current events.

This is your invitation to get more involved with our work by volunteering. We have needs. Boy do we have needs! For example:

  • Research & Data Entry: We have the most comprehensive lists of cultural community contacts and Metro Vancouver media. But these lists need constant care, updating, grooming. A few hours a week would make a huge difference. This is a task that someone could do from home if that would be more comfortable. If database research and grooming is something you’d enjoy, contact communications@allianceforarts.com and let us know.
  • Special Event Support: The Alliance produces or co-produces several events throughout the year, including the upcoming media launch for Culture Days, our annual Arts Summit, the Mayor’s Arts Awards, and ArtsFete. We always need help preparing for and staging these important and fun-filled events and there are lots of chores to go around. To get involved in our events, email Andrea Curtis at events@allianceforarts.com and let her know about your interests.
  • Board Support: Once a month we could use a hand in the office preparing material for the regular board meeting. This would involve formatting some documents, printing and collating the packages, and archiving the material from the previous board meeting. If you have a couple of hours to spare once a month, your help would be appreciated. Contact Kevin at communications@allianceforarts.com to discuss this further.

If any of the above volunteer needs interests you, please get in touch. We only ask that you be clear about the amount of time you can contribute and be able to keep to a regular schedule. Each of these tasks requires a fair amount of training and so your commitment to stick with it for at least the foreseeable future is important.

We look forward to you joining the team!
