Vancouver AM @ Arts Summit 2011: Join the Cultural Tourism Conversation

Vancouver's premier tourism and hospitality networking group, Vancouver AM Tourism Association, will hold their next fortnightly breakfast event in conjunction with the Alliance for Arts and Culture's Arts Summit 2011.

Breakfast will be served at 7 a.m. on Friday, June 10 at the newly opened W2 Media Cafe in the Woodward's Atrium, adjacent to the Summit venue SFU Woodward's Goldcorp Centre for the Arts.

Vancouver AM members and Summit participants are invited to "join the conversation" as Tourism Vancouver's VP of Marketing Communications Walt Judas discusses the exploding interest in "Cultural Tourism" with Vancouver Children's Festival executive and artistic director Katharine Carol and artist-run Grunt Gallery co-founder and program director Glenn Alteen.

With Walt's experience in mainstream tourism marketing, Katharine's background programming artistic events large and small, and Glenn's historic involvement in Vancouver's "underground" cultural assets, the exchange should be lively and informative.

Following breakfast we will be treated to a quick tour of the SFU Woodward's Goldcorp Centre for the Arts facilities, including the Audain Gallery and the Milton and Fei Wong Experimental Theatre. This is a great opportunity to discover the many features of Vancouver's newest community arts venue.

Plus, there will be an opportunity to sit in on an open rehearsal young dancers with  Arts Umbrella as they prepare for their annual family showcase.

Registered participants at Arts Summit 2011 can purchase Vancouver AM breakfast tickets at their member rate of $28 (plus HST). The student rate is $23.

Come join the conversation!
