Vancouver AM Celebrates Culture Days

Venue: Pyatt Hall of the VSO School of Music / 843 Seymour Street

Time: 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Guest Speakers: Vancouver actor and musician, and Spirit of the West frontman, John Mann will speak on the exciting growth of Culture Days as a national and local celebration, and TELUS Community Fund chair Nini Baird will talk about the importance of community engagement with the arts.

About Culture Days: Culture Days is a Canada-wide volunteer movement to raise awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement by all Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. On Culture Days weekend, September 28, 29 and 30, hundreds of BC artists and arts organizations, including nearly 200 in Metro Vancouver, will offer free, hands-on activities that invite the public to participate “behind the scenes”—and to discover the world of artists, creators, historians, architects, curators, and designers at work in their community.

About The VSO School of Music: Opened just over a year ago, the VSO School of Music, next door to the Orpheum Theatre on Seymour Street, is a cultural gem in the heart of the City. Its showcase venue, Pyatt Hall, was painstakingly designed as a state-of-the-art venue, combining a classical spirit with the benefits of 21st Century technology. The flexible nature of the space makes for a multitude of stage configurations, and the gala-lift flooring system allows a flat floor to be transformed into raked seating in a matter of minutes. This beautiful performance and event space has to be seen to be fully appreciated, and the Vancouver AM breakfast celebrating the start of Culture Days is a unique opportunity do so.
