/The CAPACOA awards celebrate the best and brightest of the Presenting and Touring sector. Handed out at the Saturday night gala awards dinner during the annual conference, recipients are chosen by their fellow CAPACOA members.

- CELEBRATE! Awards will be presented at the Awards Gala, Saturday January 26th during the CAPACOA Conference in Toronto, ON – January 23rd – 26th, 2013.
2011/12 Presenter of the Year (open to CAPACOA presenter and network members only)
Do you know a professional or volunteer organization that has made an outstanding contribution to the presentation of touring performances in 2011/12? This award recognizes excellence and will be given to an organization that has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to superb programming and professionalism, and/or one that has made a significant contribution to community life and/or the touring sector in Canada in 2011/12.
2011/12 Manager/Agent of the Year (open to CAPACOA business members only)
Is your agent a superstar? This award is conceived to recognize exceptional achievement by business organizations who work in partnership with presenters to develop and maintain audiences, promote block booking activity, conceive innovative touring projects, and otherwise go above and beyond.
2011/12 Touring Artist of the Year (open to any performing artist or company that toured in Canada in 2011/12)
This award recognizes performers whose professionalism and cooperative spirit enhance their relationship with presenters, such as cooperation in performance promotion, technical facilitation, contract fulfillment, or service above and beyond contractual agreements. This award is open to any performing artist or company that toured in Canada during the last season.
Nominations and Voting Process
Anyone may place the name of an organization or individual in nomination, subject to the restrictions above. Self-nominations are accepted. All nominations will then be considered by the awards jury, which will be chaired ex officio by CAPACOA’s Executive Director. The jury, composed of no fewer than three people representing the diversity of the live touring and presenting community, will review all nominations, and may, at its discretion, identify additional nominees, before creating a slate of nominees to be elected by CAPACOA’s membership via online survey. The jury may also decide not to bestow an award in any given year.
*To be eligible for the final slate, nominees must be members in good-standing of the association.
