Staffing News from the Kay Meek Centre
/West Vancouver's Kay Meek Centre for the Performing Arts has a new management structure that will divide the roles of managing and artistic director to meet the needs of the Centre in a period of expansion and artistic growth.
The Kay Meek Centre welcomes back Claude Giroux, continuing in his role as artistic director, responsible for the artistic vision, selection of programming for the Centre's season and youth programs, and direction of produced works and artistic community outreach programs.
Jeanne LeSage has been named the executive director, responsible for administration, operations, strategic planning and financial management of the organization.
LeSage’s career has spanned film festivals, theatre, dance and opera with a strong focus on operational effectiveness and strategy. After a first career in stage management, and 10 years with the Toronto International Film Festival, LeSage took international engagements including the prestigious 9-month Arts Management Fellowship at the Kennedy Centre for Performing Arts, managing producer for the Abu Dhabi Film Festival and deputy interim CEO for the Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman. LeSage holds a Drama and English degree from University of Toronto. She is past-Board President for Toronto's Volcano Theatre, an internationally renowned and award-winning experimental theatre.
LeSage's appointment is effective March 1, 2014.
