Public Space Enhancement Opportunities at Evergreen Line Stations

The City of Coquitlam is working with the Evergreen Line Rapid Transit Project to identify opportunities to enhance public spaces in and around stations, including interior walls and exterior plazas. Examples may include architectural elements, street furniture and public art. There are four Coquitlam Evergreen Line Stations:

  • Burquitlam Station - Clarke Road near Como Lake Avenue
  • Coquitlam Central Station - Southwest corner of Lougheed and Barnet Highways at the existing West Coast Express/Coquitlam Bus Loop sites
  • Lincoln Station - Between Lincoln and Northern Avenues along Pinetree Way
  • Lafarge Lake Douglas Station - Northeast corner of Guildford Avenue and Pinetree Way

The Evergreen Line will provide rapid transit service from Coquitlam to Vancouver via Port Moody and Burnaby. The line will seamlessly connect with the current Sky Train network.  The Evergreen Line stations are located in high density urban environments or connected to urban transportation hubs.

The City invites interested parties to submit their qualifications. Qualifications from emerging artists are encouraged. It is anticipated that at least one enhancement/public art opportunity is available for each station; however several smaller works may also be considered. This Request for Qualifications does not require the preparation of a proposal. The City is not asking for concepts at this stage and those parties who enter concepts or design submissions may not receive further consideration.
