Public Legal Education and Information for Non-Profits: Community Survey
/People’s Law School and Artists’ Legal Outreach are seeking to identify, gather and make available public legal education and information for not-for-profits, charities and cooperatives. Not-for-profit leaders and administrators are invited to participate in this survey to inform the next phase of this project.
The goals of the project are:
- to create centralized access to legal resources and information for non-profits and charities in British Columbia, and
- to set the foundation for an integrated response to the sector's legal needs.
Your input will help to build a clearinghouse that has the tools and resources to meet the unique and complex needs of a sector that has over 26,000 societies in BC alone. This project will link together a range of material in 5 areas of law: governance, finance / risk management, employment / human rights, privacy and leasing / property.
They are particularly interested in the kinds of issues you understand non-profits are struggling with and what, in your experience, is missing in terms of resources that might prevent common legal pitfalls.
