NEWS: CBC Offers Free Space

CBC Vancouver, as part of its redevelopment process and with the support of the City of Vancouver’s Cultural Services, has created two community spaces for Vancouver based registered charities, societies and other non-profit organizations, with a cultural or artistic mandate.

Studio 700 and the Outdoor Stage are available to rent, free of charge, five days per month. These spaces can be booked either together or separately for a maximum of five days per month per space. Our goal is to attract a diverse array of non-profit cultural and artistic organizations and provide as many opportunities as possible for different organizations to use the spaces.

You can begin to book these spaces NOW. The community spaces are open as of April 1, 2010. Studio 700 is not available for viewing until Monday, March 29, 2010.

To put a TENTATIVE HOLD on these spaces, you must submit your request in writing, either by e-mail (see on-line form), fax or mail, at least 8 weeks prior to the intended date of your event, on a first come first served basis.

Your booking is CONFIRMED only when CBC Vancouver receives the following, eight weeks prior to your event:

  1. a security deposit of a certified cheque or wire transfer is required if  any cleaning, security and technical/stagehand support is requested by the non profit;

  2. a copy of your Certificate of Incorporation and your BC Society number or Federal Charitable number as applicable (applicants must be registered as a non-profit society in good standing with the Province of BC Register of Companies);

  3. proof of $2 million liability insurance;

  4. a signed event agreement
