Fringe To Present Year-Round Programming

To alleviate the festival withdrawal Fringe fans experience outside of September, the Vancouver Fringe Festival announced this week that it will present five shows between February and May from beloved Fringe artists—plus special events with Fringe legend TJ Dawe.

One Man Lord of the Rings, Hockey Night at the Puck and Pickle Pub, Nashville Hurricane, Little Orange Man, and Kitt & Jane round out the Fringe’s first year-round series. This Fringe Presents programming runs from February 6 – May 11, 2014 at Waterfront Theatre, Studio 1398, and Performance Works.

“Presenting shows outside the Festival gives audiences the chance to really sink their teeth into them in a way you can’t do during the hustle of the Fringe,” executive director David Jordan said in a press release.

The Vancouver Fringe Festival is a celebration of every kind of theatre imaginable. Produced annually by the First Vancouver Theatrespace Society over 11 days in September, with over 600 volunteers supporting 800 performances and attracting over 30,000 attendees, the Fringe is consistently voted Vancouver’s Best Arts Festival by Georgia Straight readers. The 2014 Vancouver Fringe Festival runs from September 4-14.
