Changes For BC Arts and Culture Week

BC Arts and Culture Week, a week-long celebration held across the province each April, will undergo changes in 2014 as delivery of the program passes to the BC Arts Council.

Marking its 15th year in 2014, the program was previously presented through the joint effort of ArtsBC and ArtStarts in Schools with the support of the Province through the BC Arts Council. The program's community grants and Arts Champion Awards components will be suspended, pending a review. The community grants component provided modest funding for events during BC Arts and Culture Week. The Arts Champion Awards honoured artists, administrators and youth making significant contributions to arts and culture in BC. 

During BC Arts and Culture Week, events and activities that encourage cultural participation are presented by arts councils, communities and schools across the province to celebrate the contributions that arts and culture make in learning and in life.

The 2014 edition of BC Arts and Culture Week will be held April 20-26.
