British Columbia Loves Culture!

Join in British Columbia’s Culture Days as more than 450 free events and activities province-wide celebrate arts and culture, September 27 - 29, 2013.

Hundreds of free, interactive activities are planned across the province, inviting people to get involved with the arts and artists in their communities to share their love of culture.

“Culture Days is an opportunity to showcase the talent and creativity that exists across our province,” says Lucille Pacey, president and CEO of Arts Umbrella, and chair of the BC Culture Days task force. From street art to high art, pop culture to traditional culture, Culture Days is an opportunity to engage with art and artists in a different way.”

The fourth annual Culture Days will be celebrated in hundreds of Canadian cities and towns. Events are taking place in 46 communities in BC. Mayors and councils in Vancouver, Victoria, Richmond, Surrey, Ladysmith, Duncan, North Vancouver, and Kelowna have officially proclaimed Culture Days in their communities.

More than 450 activities are scheduled across BC, from disciplines including visual arts, music, dance, theatre, heritage, film and video, literature, culinary arts and new media.

Finding events is easy using the Bright Spots Schedule at www.culturedays.ca. This online tool allows people to create a personalized schedule of activities taking place in their community.
