BC Artists Take Home 10 Western Canadian Music Awards

The 2013 Western Canadian Music Award winners were announced at a gala awards show on Sunday, October 6 in Calgary, AB at Flames Central as part of the BreakOut West weekend. 

BC had a solid representation from a diverse array of artists and industry professionals including the following artists who took home awards honouring the best in Western Canada:

Pop Recording of the Year – Hannah Georgas for Hannah Georgas

Francophone Recording of the Year - Jill Barber for Chansons

Electronic / Dance Recording of the Year – Kytami for Kytami

Urban Recording of the Year - DiRTY RADiO for Cassette

Roots / Duo Recording of the Year – Jon and Roy for Let It Go

World Recording of the Year - Alex Cuba for Ruido En El Sistema

Rap / Hip-Hop Recording of the Year - Madchild for Dope Sick

Children's Recording of the Year – Rick Scott for The Great Gazzoon

Classical Composition of the Year - John Oliver for Forging Utopia

Live Music Venue of the Year - Commodore Ballroom
