ArtStarts Showcase & Conference 2014
/Register early for the 2014 ArtStarts Showcase and Conference, a performing arts showcase and conference for educators, administrators, and community presenters interested in booking performances for young audiences, taking place February 26 to 28.
This year's event offers many opportunities to experience the arts, engage with delegates and artists, and explore how you can take action to activate learning for young people.
Showcasing artists are of the highest calibre, diverse, entertaining and educational. Disciplines cover dance, theatre, music, storytelling, and interdisciplinary arts. Many of the artists are BC based while others come from other Canadian provinces, the United States and overseas.
Delegates can look forward to:
- An inspiring keynote address by Lisa Phillips, author of The Artistic Edge: 7 Skills Children Need to Succeed in an Increasingly Right Brain World;
- Sample performances by over 30 showcasing artists;
- Hands-on professional development workshops, including "Art for the Terrified", "Arts Integration in Action", "What Makes You an Arts Champion?" and more.
New this year is a dinner and show where delegates and artists can mingle, eat, and enjoy an entertaining (and topical) performance.
Early Bird Deadline:
January 15 is the deadline to receive Early Bird rates and for representatives of BC school districts to apply for a partial subsidy.
