/The Alliance’s Winter Workshop Series includes a “bootcamp” on law and governance, and workshops on Strategic Planning, Gaming Grant writing, and the transition from the HST. Register now!
The Workshops & Facilitators: The Winter Workshop Series addresses four topics of importance to all arts and culture organizations, presented by some of the top experts in their fields. These include:
- Law & Governance Bootcamp for Performing Arts Non-Profits: Martha Rans of Artists’ Legal Outreach (ALO) and Alison Brewin offer foundational knowledge to help you identify, plan for, and respond to legal issues in the non-profit sector. Note: Registration for this workshop is through the ALO website and not through the Alliance office.
- A New Approach To Strategic Planning: Former Vancouver Opera general director Rob Hallam introduces a new strategic planning tool, Emergenetics®.
- Deconstructing The HST: April 1, 2013 will mark the transition back from the HST to the PST / GST. Darren Taylor of Grant Thornton LLP helped our community with the implementation of the HST and will now do the same as we head back to the future!
- Navigating Your Gaming Grant Application: Alliance for Arts and Culture executive director Rob Gloor will guide you through the particular requirements of the Community Gaming Grants program, and grant writing basics applicable to all funding programs.
Costs: Workshop registrations vary depending on the topic and facilitator, with significant discounts for Alliance for Arts and Culture members. Applicable taxes will be added to all registration fees.
Registration: Pre-registration and payment is required for all workshops. We accept cash, VISA, MasterCard or cheques. Call our office at 604.681.3535 with a credit card number or mail a cheque or drop off your payment in person at our office. Twenty-four hours cancellation notice is required to obtain a full refund.
Cancellation: We reserve the right to cancel workshops if registration is too low.
