Alcan Awards Deadline November 28

The Cultch has announced the fourteenth anniversary of the Rio Tinto Alcan Performing Arts Award - THEATRE 2013. This $60,000 production fund is open to performing arts companies resident in British Columbia, rotating annually between Dance, Theatre, and Opera/Music.

This year's competition is open to theatre companies. Application forms are available at www.thecultch.com.

The deadline for submissions is Monday, November 28, 2011 at 5 pm.

The Rio Tinto Alcan Performing Arts Award was conceived to recognize the achievements of British Columbia performing arts companies and to foster the creation of new work by providing a significant financial investment in a new production by the chosen company. THEATRE 2013 celebrates the fourteenth round of the award, and more than a decade of outstanding artistic innovation in British Columbia.

The award is administered by The Cultch, and selection is made by an independent panel of judges. The premiere run of the selected work is presented at the Historic Theatre at The Cultch as a key component of the award, and takes place in the spring of the year following the announcement of the chosen company.
