There is also an important upcoming event which will introduce the update via training sessions for arts organizations.
New Reporting Capabilities in CADAC
A series of reports have been made available to arts organizations for self-analysis and comparison purposes. These reports use Power BI, a data visualization software that allows organizations to use their own data and compare it with aggregate data sourced from CADAC's database of over 1800 organizations.
Four reports are available and can be customized using various filters and cross-tabulations. These reports are:
Financial and Statistical Details and Summary Data
Your Organization Comparison of Form Details
Financial and Statistical Detailed Trend
Multiple Organizations Comparison of Form Details
Explore Their Data - A New Open-Source Reporting Tool
They have recently launched Explore Our Data, a data analytics tool that uses Power BI and provides open public access to aggregate data reports sourced from CADAC's database.
This data analytics tool allows one to create customized, extractable reports for various purposes, including research, advocacy, sector-specific analysis by budget size and/or by artistic disciplines and practices at various levels of government, impact assessment, benchmarking, year-over-year longitudinal trends, and more.
Support Materials: Videos and Guides
They have also developed a consolidated guide called Using Reports as an Arts Organization, which includes a section on the core reporting functionalities, as well as separate sections for each report. They have also created a training video called CADAC Core Reporting Features for Arts Organizations, which is available on the YouTube CADAC Support Channel.
