Our Response to Recent Allegations Concerning the BC Alliance

The BC Alliance for Arts and Culture stands against all forms of discrimination, racism, and intolerance. We take accusations of racist behaviour very seriously and are currently nearing the conclusion of an independent investigation into allegations that have been made about one of our employees. While we must adhere to strict confidentiality and privacy obligations, we can assure our members, colleagues, and friends in the arts community that the measures we have taken to look into this matter have been rigorous. The investigation was led by an experienced, well-respected third-party investigator reporting directly to legal counsel. When concluded, the process will result in a report which the board will consider in determining next steps.

In everything we do, we seek to emphasize the importance of equity and justice. These values continue to be central to how we conduct our work, and how we hold ourselves responsible to our community. We hope that we can prove that through our actions going forward.
