Participate in the Canadian Artists and Content Creators Economic Survey

The following is excerpted from a communication issued by GVPTA.
The Department of Canadian Heritage is conducting a survey to create a comprehensive and current portrait of the artistic and creative community in Canada at large.
The Canadian Artists and Content Creators Economic Survey is available online from May 10 to June 18 and takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
Participation is voluntary and anonymous.
The data gathered through this survey will serve the important function of informing future and existing federal government policies and programs, ensuring the Department continues to be responsive to the creative sector’s reality. This survey presents a critical opportunity for artists and content creators to have their voices heard. This includes you!
The survey takes only 15 minutes to complete and the information we receive is crucial to our future approaches to support the sector and Canadians working in it. This is your opportunity to give policymakers a view into your lived experiences as an artist or content creator working in Canada, both before and during the ongoing pandemic.
In order for policymakers to make well-informed decisions, data that accurately reflects the diverse experiences of artists and content creators is crucial. As such, we would like the survey to reach as many artists and content creators from various backgrounds across Canada as possible. Share with all your creative friends and help ensure the Department continues to be responsive to the creative sector’s reality!
The survey is open to anyone in Canada aged 16 or older who does creative or artistic work as an important component of their professional identity, whether on their own time, freelance or with organizations – either full-time or alongside other jobs, at any point in their career stage.
The survey is open, but not limited to, the following:
Writers: fiction and non-fiction book authors, playwrights, poets, screenwriters, technical writers, etc.
Visual artists: painters, craft artisans, designers, illustrators, installation artists, video game designers, concept artists, photographers, printmakers, etc.
Performing artists: actors, choreographers, circus artists, comedians, dancers, mimes, puppeteers, spoken word artists, storytellers, etc.
Musical artists: composers, musicians, singers, songwriters, etc.
Audio-visual directors: in film, television, video games, or other digital media productions, including on social media.
