Talent MATCH Program Matches Arts, Culture and Hospitality Orgs with Student Talent
/Museums, Arts, Tourism, Culture, and Hospitality (MATCH) organizations have been hit hard by the pandemic. The Talent MATCH Program is here to support them in their recovery with help from the student workforce.
With funding from the Ministry of Advanced Education, Training, and Skills, Talent MATCH is a partnership between the Association of Co-operative Education and Work Integrated Learning BC/Yukon (ACE-WIL) and the BC Alliance for Arts + Culture, the BC Museums Association, and go2HR.
Talent MATCH aims to make it easier for MATCH organizations to hire student talent. The Program will provide resources such as information on funding sources, tips on recruiting and onboarding students remotely, and will facilitate connections to post-secondary institutions.
Information will be available as downloadable resources, webinars, and through one-on-one advising with Talent MATCH staff.
“Students are a great source of creative energy, the latest technical skills, and the drive to make a difference,” Talent MATCH’s Project Manager Debby Reis says. “Student talent is an ideal method for MATCH organizations to pivot and thrive with digital projects, new systems, fundraising, marketing, customer service roles, and more.”
Talent MATCH will kick off with an introductory webinar on March 23, 2021 at 2:00pm PST. In addition to introducing the Program, tips on finding students talent, and information on funding that’s currently available, the webinar will feature Heather McGilvary, a Senior Program Coordinator with TECHNATION—a Student Work Placement Program (SWPP) delivery partner. Heather will explain how employers can acquire a wage subsidy through SWPP via TECHNATION as well as information on the SWPP in general. The webinar will also highlight stories from students and the jobs they’ve done to help organizations.
