City of Vancouver Unanimously Passes 2020 Cultural Grants

Last Friday afternoon, on March 27, we issued an urgent advocacy alert imploring all members of Vancouver’s arts, culture and heritage sectors to step up as advocates. We asked you to write to Mayor Kennedy Stewart and the members of Council expressing the sector’s need for the 2020 Cultural Grants to be approved in this Tuesday’s Special Council Meeting. You made your voices heard loud and clear.

We are thrilled to report that the motion to approve these grants passed unanimously, with support from Mayor Stewart and all Councillors. We want to express our gratitude to Mayor and Council, as well as to you, the arts community. We were heartened by your quick and passionate response. Thank you for coming together.
