Do you know a cultural leader or arts supporter who deserves recognition? Do you work with a star volunteer or community-minded business that has supported the arts, beyond expectations? If so, you can nominate them for the Richmond Arts Awards!
The City of Richmond and Richmond Arts Coalition is now accepting nominations for the 12th annual Richmond Arts Awards. Nominations can be submitted online until March 23.
To date, the program has attracted more than 200 nominations across six categories, recognizing both well-established institutions and rising stars in Richmond’s arts community. This year the Richmond Arts Coalition will award a $200 cash prize to the winner of the Youth Arts category, which recognizes a performing, literary or visual artist, 24 years of age or younger, who has demonstrated outstanding promise and commitment to the Richmond arts community. Three finalists in each of the six categories will be named in April and award recipients will be announced in a special ceremony hosted by Mayor Malcolm Brodie at Richmond City Hall on May 12. The Richmond Arts Awards is presented through a partnership between the City of Richmond and the Richmond Arts Coalition, and is supported by the Richmond News.
