It may not be January 1 anymore, but we hope that your resolutions for self-improvement are still firmly in place, because the BC Alliance has a slate of upcoming workshops to help get your new decade off on the right foot.

Need to brush up on the ins and outs of board insurance? Join us February 6 for a free webinar on Management & Board Liability, presented by Steve Beatty of Front Row Insurance.

On February 12, Dr. Grégoire Gagnon leads a free session on Maintaining Respectful Workplaces, drawing upon the Cultural Human Resources Council’s Respectful Workplaces in the Arts initiative. Learn best practices to keep your workplace free of bullying, harassment, discrimination and violence. Attendance is limited, so register now!

Lindy Sisson offers up Strategic Planning with a Twist on February 25. Build on your mission/mandate, vision, and core values, and develop a framework you can take back to work with your team.

An Introduction to Diversity vs. Decolonization Using CultureBrew.Art serves as an introduction to the online database for racialized and Indigenous artists, as well as a networking opportunity. Two concurrent sessions will welcome racialized and Indigenous artists, as well as engagers, on March 2.

On March 3, Marianna Scott presents Tax Relief for Artists, which covers the fundamentals of taxation for self-employed artists and craftspeople. If you dread tax season, and put off thinking about your taxes until the last minute, then this workshop is for you.

Linda Gorrie's popular workshop on Financial Strategy for Arts and Culture Organizations returns March 10. Let this workshop guide you as you develop your organization's financial strategy.

Ignite your organization’s future with Igniting Change, a series of three workshops hosted by Vicki Cummings. On March 17, bring your new strategic plan to life with From Purpose to Impact. On March 31, Alignment of Resources will help you leverage at-hand resources make your goals even more tangible. And Culture of Leadership & Excellence will align your decision-making to activate those goals on April 14. Attend multiple sessions for discounted rates.

Last, but certainly not least: what is decolonization, and why does it matter? Come explore these questions with decolonial facilitator Ta7talíya Michelle Nahanee on April 8. Intro to Decolonizing Practices for the Arts will help you build the resilience you need to stay in the dialogue of decolonization and generate commitments you can grow with. Capacity is limited, so register early.

BC Alliance members register at discounted rates. ASL interpretation is available upon request. Find out more about all of our sessions and register now at our Workshops page.
